OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE TOURISM
We are very passionate about our sport and the environment and we strongly believe that a major facet of our business should be devoted to sustainable tourism. Therefore, we believe that the foundation of a first-class skiing vacation must include responsibility for conservation and protection of the environment in which we operate. With these goals in mind, Alpine Exposure has taken several steps to improve our environmental performance record and thus safeguard the areas that we love so dearly...now and for the future.
In each of our featured destinations, we search out hotels and apartments that have been built or retro-fitted with eco-friendly products and energy-saving materials. We provide our clients with information for carbon offsets for all trans-Atlantic flights and we’ve significantly reduced the amount of office materials needed to run our business here at home. Even our website runs on carbon-free energy!
Furthermore, as a business that deals with smaller, more intimate groups, we can more easily put into practice such sustainability measures in comparison to the mass tour operators who are often more concerned by their financial bottom line.
We believe that by implementing these necessary steps ourselves, the burden of sustainable tourism no longer lies upon the shoulders of our clients who are then allowed to enjoy their vacation knowing that everything is being managed and taken care of by us. After all, we certainly don’t want to stop people from traveling or skiing. We simply want to see it done more responsibly.
